My addons

I can’t think of anyone today who plays World of Warcraft that doesn’t use any addons.  Personally, I’m not a huge fan.  I feel like I’m not playing the game that Blizzard intended me to play.  However, there are a few that I’ve found that there’s no way I could possibly live without.

Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) – If you raid, or are thinking about raiding, or even if you don’t raid, don’t hesitate.  Get this addon.  It adds multiple warnings and bars that will help you manage boss abilities in every raid instance, and all Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King dungeons.  Make sure to grab the Classic and Burning Crusade addons from their download page, since they’re not included in core download.

Grid – Grid is an addon that replaces the default Blizzard raid frames.  However, because of its multitude of options and customization options, it can be overwhelming to configure.  I used a post I found on the community forums to configure mine, and I wouldn’t be able to heal without it now.

GridStatusRaidDebuff – GridStatusRaidDebuff is an addition to Grid that allows Grid to display important debuffs from bosses.  It is very useful for healers who need to be on top of dispelling negative effects from their raid.  It includes debuffs from all Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King bosses.  Classic raid instances are not supported.

Omen Threat Meter – Omen is an addon that I only have because it was once required for our guild’s raiding team.  Omen is a threat meter, and tells you exactly how much threat you have compared to others in your group against whichever target you or they have selected.  This was much more important for healers during Burning Crusade raiding, and is mostly unneeded now.  I do expect its usefullness to make a comeback during Cataclysm raiding however.

SexyMap – Normally I hate “fluff” addons, but this one was too cool to pass up for me.  It does exactly what it says that it does, which is sexify your minimap.  And it does a damn fine job of it.
